│ The Medieval Tournamnet of Vanadia TM an Inter-IGM TM for L.O.R.D. │
│ (Formerly The Medieval Fair of Vanadia, but it is really a tournament) │

Please read these doc files before attempting to install this program.
┌───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ Description of this Inter-IGM and Vanadia │
└───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
If you are not aware of The Realm of Vanadia, it is a series of seven
IGMs that are designed to work together. However, each IGM can be run
independently without any problems.
This IGM is the showcase for some incredible ANSI animated Arcade Games.
All of the games are based on events that could have been in a Medieval
Tournament. Your users will compete against each other in each of the
events to gain tournament points. These points will be tallied at the
start of each day and the top three players will receive a bonus. This
is the only real modification the IGM will make and it is very fair. For
a user to participate in an event they will have to pay an entry fee.
This fee is based on what level they are in LORD. Higher level players
will have to pay more (much more) than lower level players. The awards
for the top three players are based on their level also, so higher level
players will receive larger awards each day they are on top.
This may sound modifying, but for a player to remain at the top they will
have to play many of the events and pay the entry fee many times.
If they don't play the IGM often, someone else on your board will become
the top ranked player. This IGM should spark lots of competition among
your players since none of them will want anyone else to get the reward.
Everyone will see who the top three players are in the daily news each
day and the top three players receive personal mail. All maintenance is
automatic and it is done when the first person enters the Tournament
each day.
This IGM is also special in another way. All of the animated games can
be played by blind callers on your board. We took many steps to insure
that a blind caller using a voice synthesizer will be able to play the
games competively. This is accomplished by sending hidden text to the
blind caller that tells them more details about how to play. The IGM
will also give voice prompts for aiming, firing, and other activities.
We hope this will be the first of many games to be written with the
special needs of blind callers kept in mind.
However, your ASCII callers may not find the IGM very fun. Since we
concentrated on Arcade style games they can only play the River Rapids.
We felt that the vast majority of callers to BBSs uses ANSI or RIP, so we
have written this IGM to fully exploit the ANSI capabilities and higher
modem speeds (at least 9600, 14.4 and 28.8 are even better).
I'd describe the games here, but it is really best if you install the IGM
and see them. You will find the following events in this Tournament:
Axe Throwing, Crossbow, Long Bow, Short Bow, Horse Racing, River Rapids,
Wall Scaling and Jousting. Although some of the events sound similiar,
they are played differently and look very different.

│ Installation Instructions │
└───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
OPTION 1:
NOTE: This option requires Vanadia's Arena of Warriors to be REGISTERED and
Installed on your system!
Simply unpack all of the files in this archive into the directory containing
Vanadia's Arena of Warriors Inter-IGMs. The Realm of Vanadia has a built in
expander and will automatically detect that this program is available to the
users.
It couldn't get any easier than this...
OPTION 2:
NOTE: You must have all of The Realm of Vanadia IGMs in the same
directory for the Inter-IGM options to work correctly.
1 - Unpack the contents of this archive to the VANADIA directory, or
create a new directory for this IGM called VANADIA
2 - run MEDFAIR CONFIG and fill in any information that is not already
present (the config program uses VANADIA.CFG, which may already
exist if you are running any Realm of Vanadia IGMs)
3 - Choose I)nstall to install the IGM into your LORD game.
